   Jost, served from this origin.
   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE FACE, DECLARED ONCE, FOR EVERY PAGE THE PRODUCT HAS. Jost used to arrive
as a stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com on nine of them, and a stylesheet in
the head blocks first paint until it resolves: on a captive portal where DNS
answers and the connect hangs, that is an empty page for the whole connect
timeout rather than an app in the wrong font. It also told a third party who
was reading a firm's proposal, and when the app was fixed the marketing site,
both error pages, sign-in, sign-up, reset and the welcome wizard were all left
   on the CDN.

THE FAST-FAILURE CASE WAS NO BETTER, which is why this is not just a privacy
or a latency question. --font-ui, --font-body and --font-mono all fall back to
bare `sans-serif`, and Jost's caps are narrower than Arial's, so every
tracked-caps label in the product gets 8 to 12 percent wider at the same
   moment and they overflow together.

IT IS A LINKED FILE RATHER THAN AN INLINE BLOCK, and public/ rather than src/,
for the reason gc-fodax.css gives beside it: eight copies of one @font-face is
eight things to keep in step, and this is the copy the browser can cache once
and reuse across every page of the app. An inline block would also need a
fresh CSP hash on every page that carried it.

ONE @font-face ACROSS 300 TO 600 because jost-var.woff2 is a variable font and
the four weights this product uses are axis positions inside the one 26 kB
latin-subset file, written by scripts/fetch-jost.mjs. `swap` so a slow font
shows the fallback and then corrects, which is the one failure mode that never
   costs anybody a paint.
